Pednelissos (Antalya)
The ancient city of Pednelissos is located 75 km northeast of Antalya near the village of Kozan. It is on the lower slopes of the Taurus, overlooking the Pamphylian plain. The site has been investigated since 2000 by the Pisidian Survey project, now led by Lutgarde Vandeput and Veli Köse, both of the University of Cologne.The project has documented the extent of the urbanism of Pednelissos, including its north and south necropoleis and the well-preserved Hellenistic fortification walls of its upper and lower cities. Pottery from surveys indicates occupation mainly from the 2nd century BC to the 7th century AD, with concentrations between the 1st century BC and 1st century AD, and 4th and 7th centuries AD.

Pednelissos kenti, Antalya’nın 75 km kuzeydoğusunda, Kozan köyü yakınında yer alır. Taurus’un alt yamaçlarında ve Pamfilya ovasına hakim konumdadır. Yerleşimdeki araştırmalar 2000 yılından bu yana Pisidya Yüzey Araştırması projesi kapsamında sürdürülmekte ve şu anda Cologne Üniversitesi’nden Lutgarde Vandeput ve Veli Köse tarafından yürütülmektedir.Araştırmada, Pednelissos kentinin sınırları belirlenmeye çalışılmış ve bu bağlamda kuzey ve güney nekropolleri ile yukarı ve aşağı kentin iyi korunmuş durumdaki Helenistik Dönem surları da belgelenmiştir. Bulunan keramikler, iskanın yoğun olarak MÖ 2. yüzyıldan MS 7. yüzyıla kadar olduğuna ve MÖ 1. yüzyıl ile MS 4. ve 7. yüzyıllarda da bir artış olduğuna işaret etmektedir.
