Kayranlıkgözü (Kahramanmaraş)

This salvage excavation was undertaken as part of the BTC Crude Oil Pipeline Project by Muhammet Görür. The route of the pipeline was changed to avoid the site.

Situated on the Sivas road, the site is a baths complex dating to the late 3rd and early 4th centuries AD (coins of Constantine I and II were found). The complex was reused in the 8th century and coins of the Armenian prince Hethum (1226-1270) were found.
Construction was of cut stone, rubble and mud brick.

Kayranlıkgözü (Kahramanmaraş)

Bu kurtarma kazısı, Muhammet Görür başkanlığında, BTC Ham Petrol Boruhattı Projesi kapsamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Boruhattının yolu, bu yerleşimi kurtarmak amacıyla değiştirilmiştir.

Sivas yolu üzerinde bulunan bu yerleşim, (bulunan Constantine I ve II sikkeleri ile) M.S. 3. yüzyıl sonu ile 4. yüzyıl başına tarihlendirilen bir hamam yapı grubudur. Yerleşim 8. yüzyılda yeniden kullanılmış; ayrıca Ermeni prensi Hethum (1226-1270) dönemine tarihlenen sikkelere rastlanmıştır.

Kesme taş, moloz taş ve kerpiç kargir yığma yapım sistemleri kullanılmıştır.
